My name is Esther Umoh, and I’m a photographer and poet based in Nigeria. I create visual stories that reflect the heart of everyday people and the beauty in overlooked spaces.
My photography is documentary at heart — raw, honest, and soulful. I’ve had the privilege of capturing real life in motion — like the viral moment of a child in front of Peter Obi’s convoy — and transforming that into art that speaks.
Beyond the camera, I write poems and curate spaces for other creatives to find and share their voice.

I’m a creative writer and visual artist who believes that stories live in shadows, silences, and the small things we often miss. Photography taught me to notice — poetry taught me to feel. I founded Pendropspoetry as a haven for expression and shared vulnerability, curating events like Ibom Poetry Day and Poetry Hangout to amplify the creative pulse of Akwa Ibom and beyond.
I am a multidisciplinary photographer capturing the human story across motion, moments, and meaning. From the raw energy of sprinting athletes to the quiet power of political scenes, the vulnerability in portraiture, or the chaos of a live concert, my lens seeks out emotion, tension, and truth. I don’t just take pictures—I frame stories. With a sharp eye for detail and a creative approach to light, timing, and composition, I document life as it is—loud, intimate, unpredictable, and real.
